Martini Bar
Cool and stylish, The Martini Bar at Christopher’s is the only place in London to be seen sipping a cocktail. With an impressive list of over 24 Martinis, there’s something to suit everyone from the classic to the dirty to the passionate!
Luxurious booths lining one side of the bar invite you to settle in for the evening.
History of Christopher’s American Bar & Grill
Built as a papier mâché factory in the first half of the nineteenth century, the current ornate façade was added in 1870, when the site became London’s first licensed casino. The gaming tables were at the top of the grand staircase, where the restaurant is currently situated, and legend has it that a bordello could be found on the floors above!
Inspired by the Chicago Palm Restaurant in , Christopher Gilmour opened Christopher’s, The American Bar & Grill in December 1991 to serve good quality American steaks and lobsters, hitherto unable to be found in London. It quickly became one of the capital’s most opulent restaurants, resplendent over three floors, and though the concept has been adapted to take into account of changing tastes and fashions, it is still faithful to the original theme.
Christopher’s, The American Bar & Grill, is conveniently located in the heart of London’s theatre land in Covent Garden. The building stands tall boasting breathtaking views of Waterloo Bridge.
Many of the beautiful original features have been enhanced by the introduction of a contemporary chic mood, creating an elegant decor within the interior of this Grade II listed Victorian building.
